In 1994, prior to the International Women's Year Conference in Beijing, Pride was "accredited" by the United Nations for IWY attendance.  The Chinese Embassy elevated PRIDE to an intermediary role with NGO's from several countries to certify credentials, visas, and permissibility to attend the Conference and Forum in the Peoples Republic of China. PRIDE through its Border Economic Development Council, provided significant contributions to the World Bank and the Pan American Health Organization in addressing significant border and bilateral issues between the United States and Mexico.  This combined with PRIDE success with the indigenous community, provided a special advocacy and liaison role for the border region and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

In 1999, PRIDE was recognized by the United Nations under Special Consultative Status to UNESCO.  This official status permits PRIDE to be permanently represented at the United Nations in New York, Vienna, and Geneva in various capacities addressing humanitarian issues.  PRIDE is privileged as a member of the official United Nations Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations (CONGO).

PRIDE is intent on bridging regional bias through cross-cultural links into policy and program areas of the United Nations.  By approaching social enterprise options, PRIDE is expanding its role in defining sustainable initiatives for diverse at-risk communities.  As a consequence, PRIDE has taken the lead in developing stronger ties from the Pacific Rim through its base in Mexico, corporate headquarters in the culturally diverse area of Southern California, and China.  By maintaining solid liaison and representation at UN gatherings, PRIDE is preparing for important, practical projects to energize the potential of the many dedicated community organizations in need of empowerment.

PRIDE is dedicated to high standard of ethics in the fields of education and socio-economic development.

PRIDE provides for cross-cultural education and collaboration for leadership programs with scholars, educators, professionals, indigenous communities, students, youth and children.

PRIDE is committed to recognition and solutions to critical issues for children without parents, orphans, women a nd families in at-risk life environments.

PRIDE initiates programs and resolutions for humanitarian efforts in conjunction with the objectives of the United Nations.

NONPROFIT HISTORY:

PRIDE was founded in 1990 as an educational and developmental public nonprofit organization under 501(c)3 status pursuant to the code of the US Internal Revenue Service.  Certified by the State of California, PRIDE is managed by a non-salaried Board of Directors, which meets on a monthly and as-needed basis.

PRIDE is a volunteer service based organization with regional representatives and offices in New York, Vienna, Geneva, Mexico and China.  PRIDE sponsors global alliances built on the commitment of its Advisory Board Members in many Countries. This requires a tremendous sacrifice on the part of our volunteers and a pooling of expertise, skills, and remarkable resourcefulness for feasible and sustainable initiatives.

Through the years PRIDE has increased its collaboration with community initiatives, educational innovation, and social enterprise for sustaining ethical and responsible progress.  PRIDE has contributed greatly to the policies, programs, and social investment that are the benchmarks of progress.  By this our alliances are moving daily to protect their local environment, educate and guide at-risk youth, and establish innovative socio-economic partnerships to create new concepts in community sustainability.
