The Pacific Rim Institute For Development & Education is a (501-C3) tax-exempt, charitable, non governmental organization accredited by the United Nations. PRIDE is working to establish and "International Orphan's Day" on behalf of the abandoned children and orphans the world over, who have no rights and no voice. This resolution was to 186 government representatives at the Fourth UN conference in Beijing in September, 1995.

Inasmuch as each individual is born into the world as a trust of the whole, and orphans have the right to be protected and nurtured regardless of racial, ethnic, tribal, or national background, and irrespective of gender, and because violence, drugs, wars, famine, social chaos, disease and prejudice in many countries are resulting in an unprecedented number of children who are abandoned as orphans around the world.

In this day, the greatest consideration must be shown towards abandoned children and orphans; they must be trained and educated, so that they will attain the age of maturity as bright candles in the assemblage of mankind, having the opportunity to live and grow into adulthood as healthy human beings and responsible citizens.

Failure to Educate the children is unpardonable, for they will be wanderers in the desert of ignorance, living a lifetime a captive of ignorance, negligent and without discernment. If a child is left in its natural state and deprived of education, there is no doubt that it will grow up in ignorance and illiteracy, its mental faculties dulled and dimmed. One of the greatest humanitarian services we can render is the education and training of children.

Your participation by donating to PRIDE's Help the Children Fund for orphans will be helping to uplift these children as a sign of our love and care for humanity. These funds will help to helter, feed and educate these children, and will also help establish and International Orphans Day: to call the world's attention to the problems of the orphans, to direct and coordinate the world's resources to the needs of orphans, to remove the ignorance and prejudice leading to more orphans in the world, and designate a special day of celebration, especially for those orphans with unknown birthdays.
